How to Get Realistic Voices to FSX

Released in 2006, Flight Simulator X (FSX) is the 12th and final installment in Microsoft̵7;s popular Flight Simulator gaming series. While the scenery and flight simulation in FSX is extremely realistic, the air traffic control (ATC) voices often sound robotic. To add realism to ATC voices, use a third-party application such as EditVoicepack, ProFlight Emulator Deluxe or FDC Live Cockpit 2011.

Instructions

Download and install EditVoicepack X 4.0 from Editvoicepack.com. The freeware application includes an ̶0;Acceleration̶1; feature that allows you to speed up the default ATC voice set in FSX. EditVoicepack also includes thousands of editable WAV files, which can be used to change the default ATC phraseology. After you accelerate the voice set and edit the phraseology, the air traffic controllers in FSX will sound more realistic.

However, you must install ProFlight Emulator Deluxe before you can use the expansion pack. As of February 2012, ProFlight Emulator Deluxe costs approximately $41.
