Open the "Start" menu and click "Computer" to open the Windows 7 native file browser.
Use the file browser to navigate to the LFS/data/skins folder.
Select a default skin -- for example, plain white -- and press "Ctrl-C" to copy the file to your clipboard.
Navigate to the desktop and press "Ctrl-V" to paste the file from the clipboard.
Launch the graphics editing software. You can even use Microsoft Paint.
Open the "File" menu and click "Open." Use the resulting file browser to select the skin file on your desktop and click "Open."
Use the built-in set of graphics editing tools to paint the skin. You can also paste other, smaller images into your skin. You can basically add anything from decals and racing flags to country flags and sponsor logos.
Open the "File" menu and click "Save" to save the skin. Close the graphics editing software.
Select the skin file on your desktop and press "Ctrl-C" to copy it to the clipboard.
Use the file browser to navigate to the LFS/data/skins folder and press "Ctrl-V" to paste the file from the clipboard. Click "Yes" to overwrite the old skin.
Launch "Live For Speed," select the car type and enter the garage.
Select a color profile and click on the "Colors" button in the menu at the bottom of the window.
Use the color sliders to set the body color to white. You need to use white to make sure the color does not affect your skin.
Click on the button next to Texture Name to view all the skins.
Select the skin you edited earlier and close the menu. Start a new race to test the new skin.
