Game Objectives
"Medal of Honor: Airborne," commonly abbreviated as "MOH: Airborne," was released for the PC in 2007 and was the 11th game in the "Medal of Honor" series. A first-person shooter game, "MOH: Airborne" puts you in the role of a paratrooper in single-player as well as multiplayer modes. You begin each mission by selecting your drop zone on a map and parachuting to it from a plane. "MOH: Airborne" is compatible with Windows XP and Vista, but it is not compatible with Windows 7, regardless of the computer̵7;s hardware configuration.
Updating Your Game
If you encounter problems running "Medal of Honor: Airborne," whether it involves graphical issues or game play glitches, the first step is to make sure that you have the latest version of the game, which as of February 2012, is version 1.3. Game updates are distributed via patches ̵1; free executable files that allow developers to fix errors after the software has shipped. The 1.3 patch can be downloaded from any video game website that offers patches. Once you̵7;ve patched your copy of "MOH: Airborne," the version number on the main menu will display 1.3, allowing you to confirm that the patching was successful.
Drivers
If you continue to encounter graphic issues after installing the patch, the drivers for your 8800 GT card may be at fault. Drivers are software files that tell your video card how to handle incoming data. As new games are released, video card manufacturers update their drivers to ensure compatibility. Driver updates are always free and can be downloaded from each manufacturer's website. You can download drivers for the 8800 GT from Nvidia's website (see Resources). After the driver file has been downloaded, double-click on it to update your video card drivers. When finished, restart your computer.
Freezing / Graphical Corruption
If you still have problems running "Medal of Honor: Airborne," such as the game freezing or other graphical anomalies, your 8800 GT card could be overheating. When running a PC game, the video card must handle an increased load, which generates more heat. If your computer lacks adequate interior ventilation and cooling fans, the 8800 GT could overheat. To correct this, shut down the computer and open the case. Clean all of the internal fans, including the fan on the 8800 GT, using compressed air. Restart the computer and inspect that each fan is running to ensure that your computer has sufficient cooling.
