How to Change the ATC Voice Speed on an FS2004

Commonly referred to as FS2004, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 is a PC game that allows users to simulate the experience of flying a plane, including interacting with Air Traffic Control personnel. You may notice that the speech patterns of the ATC personnel are slow and unrealistic sounding. To speed up the ATC voices, use EditVoicepack. The freeware application works directly with FS2004 and allows you to accelerate the voices for each ATC character.

Instructions

      Navigate to the EditVoicepack website and download EditVoicepack 3.1.

      Extract the zip file and install the software.

      Launch EditVoicepack. You will notice a list of ATC sound files in WAV format.

      Click the ̶0;File̶1; tab and select the ̶0;Update Voicepack̶1; option.

      Check the box next to the Accelerate option and click ̶0;OK.̶1; The program updates the ATC voice speed and the progress appears in the ̶0;Accelerating̶1; window.

      Click the ̶0;File̶1; tab and select ̶0;Save̶1; to save the voice settings.
