Instructions
Increase the hit points of your Myrmidon's shields with modules such as the Large Shield Extender II. Adding more hit points also increases the number of hit points the Myrmidon regenerates per second, an essential facet of passive tank shielding. These items use a lot of CPU, so be selective. Consider limiting yourself to one effective extender. Enhance extenders with resistance amplifiers or shield amplifiers.
Equip your Myrmidon battlecruiser with modules such as Shield Recharger I, Shield Power Relay I or Core Defense Field Extender I to increase your shield's recharge rate. Accent these modules with Shield Power Relays in the Myrmidon's low slots. These modules use a small amount of CPU, but greatly increase recharge rates.
Train your Myrmidon in the areas of Shield Management, Shield Operation, Shield Upgrades and Engineering/Electronics. Management and Operation lead to increased shield capacity and regeneration while Shield Upgrades increase the power of your grid. Training the Engineering/Electronics area bolsters the grid and CPU, allowing for increased module use. Train your Tactical Shield Manipulation skill up to at least Level 4 so you can equip invulnerability fields on your Myrmidon.
Use afterburners, powerful weapons that use a lot of energy, microwarps and other capacitor-intensive tactics in battle. If you've set up your Myrmidon as a passive shield tank using modules and focused training, it does not use active shield booster methods. This means the vessel has capacitor energy to spare in battle situations.
