How to Fix a Problem on Farm Simulator

"Farming-Simulator," a PC game from Giants Software, challenges you to build and run a successful agricultural business. The game lets you manage all aspects of your farm, including livestock, crops, buildings and machines. Several problems involving graphics cards are known to occur with the game. Problems may also occur when using a game controller or attempting to set up or join a multiplayer game. Eliminate most problems by upgrading your graphics card or changing your router settings.

  Set up port forwarding on your modem or router if you have trouble joining or hosting a multiplayer game. Activate UPNP on your router or modem's settings page. Enter "10823" as the default port for "Farming-Simulator."

  Disconnect the steering wheel or game controller if the camera spins around randomly while you are playing. Game controllers often cause loss of camera control. Reconnect the game controller after a few minutes or try a different controller.

  Download the latest drivers for your computer's graphics card if you receive a "Could not init 3D system. Shader model 2 is required" error message. This message means that your card's drivers are outdated.

  Check your OpenGL version if you receive the "Could not init 3D system" error. Download the OpenGL Extensions Viewer from the Realtech-VR website, and then run the application. If the value listed is less than 2.0, uninstall and reinstall your graphics card drivers.

  Disable the ̶0;Catalyst̶1; feature on your ATI or AMD graphics card, if applicable. Right-click on your desktop, click "ATI Catalyst Control Center" and click "View Menu." Click "Advanced View," "3D Option" and then "ATI Catalyst A.I." Click the box next to "Disable ATI Catalyst." Click "Apply."

  Download the latest update for the game from the Farming-Simulator website. This update may fix errors with the game. You do not need the update if you have the Mac, Steam or Platinum version of the game.
