How to Deal With Unsettled Players in FM

"Football Manager 2012," released for the PC by Sega in 2011, is a football game (soccer in the United States) with a twist. Instead of taking direct control of the players, as in most football games, you take on the role of manager and coach. Your job in these roles is to lead your team to victory by making successful trades, selecting the right tactics and making sure your players are happy. When another team courts one of your players, this can lead to him becoming unsettled, which puts that player at risk of wanting to leave your team. Dealing with an unsettled player is a vital tactic to keeping your star players on your team.

Instructions

    • 1

Praise the player who is unsettled. You can do this by selecting "Private Chat" from the "Interaction" menu. Select any praise option, such as telling the player how essential he is to the team, to lower the chances that he leaves. Do this every chance you get.

    • 2

Offer the player a new contract from the "Contract Offer" screen. Make sure the new contract offers the player a higher monetary amount than the old one to keep him happy and make him unwilling to change teams.

    • 3

Win games. The more successful your team is, the less likely a player becomes unsettled or an unsettled player wants to leave. Train your players whenever possible; teach them a wide variety of advanced moves for use during games to help them win more often.
