How to Make a GMod Background

Garry's Mod, also knows as GMod, is a sandbox physics game developed on the powerful and versatile Source game engine. GMod has no objective and no story line, but is considered to be a full game. To make your games more interesting, you can change the background of your maps. You can download custom backgrounds or you can make your own Gmod backgrounds. Backgrounds are VTF images, so you need a third-party tool to create them.

    • 10

Select an MP3 file, right-click on it and select "Copy" from the resulting menu.

    • 11

Go to the "Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\YourUsername\Garrysmod\Sound\UI" folder, right-click anywhere on the blank space and select "Paste" from the resulting menu.

    • 12

Right-click on the MP3 file and select "Rename" from the resulting menu. Type "gamestartup01" as the file name and press "Enter" to rename the file. Your MP3 file will play every time you start the GMod server or change the map.
