Choosing Sides
For each player, the first step to creating an identity for a ̶0;Battlefield̶1; hero is choosing a side. Gamers can play as the Royals or the Nationals. The Royals are a caricature of the British forces of World War II while the Nationals are a cartoonish representation of the German forces. Each side has the same access to vehicles, weapons and hero classes, creating a balanced gameplay environment.
Soldier
The most well-balanced type of hero class, the Soldier can deal moderate damage and features middling defensive characteristics. This jack-of-all trades character has the ability to spot hidden enemies. The Soldier can also give health boosts to allies in the vicinity.
Gunner
The Gunner serves as a hero class for front-line fighters, having high ratings in both dealing and taking damage. This type of hero can man a bazooka to penetrate enemy armor. With special abilities and upgrades, the Gunner can actually turn enemy explosions into health boosts.
Commando
For players who like to lie low, the Commando is a suitable class of hero. The Commando comes armed with a long-range sniper rifle for distance attacks and a knife for close encounters. This fast-moving character class also features sneaky stealth abilities.
Hero Points
Through regular play, gamers earn hero points in ̶0;Battlefield Heroes.̶1; Players can spend these points to purchase new weapons and abilities. Hero points also allow players to level up, upgrading the core abilities of their hero. Gamers can refund points at any time to try new abilities. Similarly, players earn valor points via the successful completion of missions. These points buy health packs, vehicle repair kits and rental weapons.
