Verify Integrity
If you have problems launching the game, it could be due to Steam not properly downloading and installing all of the "Worms Reloaded" game files. Rather than uninstalling and re-installing the game, you can use the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" to scan your installation and download any missing files. This can be done by right-clicking the game's listing in Steam and selecting "Properties," followed by "Local Files" and "Verify Integrity of Game Cache." Verify the cache twice to make certain all files are properly installed.
Use One Core
"Worms Reloaded" is known to have problems when multi-core CPUs use more than one core to run the game, which can result in in-game slowdown and stuttering. To fix such problems, press the "Alt" and "Yab" keys together to exit back to your desktop while the game is running and open the Task Manager. Right-click the "Worms Reloaded" entry in the "Processes" menu and set it to use only one core in the "Affinity" menu.
Update Drivers
The developer recommends that you install the latest video, sound and DirectX drivers before running "Worms Reloaded." When running the game for the first time, "Worms Reloaded" automatically checks your systems for the latest DirectX drivers and installs them if necessary. You can download video and sound drivers for free from the video or sound card manufacturer's website.
Multiplayer Lag
If you encounter excessive amounts of lag in Multiplayer, and you have set the core affinity to only one core, your Steam settings could be interfering with the game. In general, the culprit is usually Steam's mic settings, which can be problematic even if you do not own or use a mic. For best results, select "Voice" from the "Settings" menu inside of Steam and disable the voice chat option completely.
