How to Sync a Game

Steam is a digital distribution service for the PC that allows you to purchase and download games directly to your computer. Launched in 2003 by Valve, creators of the "Half-Life" and "Portal" series of games, Steam now encompasses over 1,000 PC games. Steam does more than distribute content; a feature called the Steam Cloud allows for cloud-based saving, meaning that your saved games are always available through Steam no matter which PC you use. Steam automatically syncs a game with the cloud as soon as you are finished playing. However, you must first enable the Steam Cloud feature before your games sync to the Steam Cloud.

Instructions

    • 1

      Launch Steam.

    • 2

Click "Steam" followed by "Settings" in the upper left corner of the Steam window.

    • 3

      Click the "Downloads+Cloud" tab.

    • 4

Click the box next to "Enable Steam Cloud Synchronization." A check appears in the box.

    • 5

Click "OK" to save all changes. When you exit a game, your saved games are now synced to the Steam Cloud automatically.
