Major Faction Orders
The major factions in "Prophesy of Pendor" emerged as various leaders vied for personal power and control of Pendor. Factions include the Kingdom of Raverstern, Kingdom of Sarleon, the Empire, D'Shar Principalities, Kingdom of Fierdsvain. Knights founded the Order of the Dragon in the Kingdom of Raverstern, and the Order of the Lion in the Kingdom of Sarleon. In the Empire, the Immortals form a knighthood order comprised of elite foot soldiers and well-trained legionnaires. Other knighthood orders of major factions include the Windriders in the D'Shar Principalities and Lady Valkyries in the Kingdom of Fierdsvain.
Political and Religious Orders
The knights of the Order of Dawn worship Astrea, the goddess of justice, and abhor the worship of a rival god named Erida Occisor. They seek to destroy all heretics; such fanatical beliefs caused the schism with the Order of Eventide. A similar conflict exists between the Order of the Silvermist Rangers and the Order of the Ebony Gauntlet -- the Silvermist Rangers welcome the Noldor as allies and the Ebony Gauntlet knights hate the elder race. Likewise, the knights of the Shadow Region loathe the Order of the Radiant Cross, doctors and medics that suspect the shadow knights of colluding with the Snake Cult.
Neutral Orders
In Laria, the Marcher Lords established the Rangers of the Clarion Call. The order is neutral, but the knights still harbor resentment toward the Jatu, a minor faction of Pendor. Knights within the order fight on horseback with strong bows and bodkin arrows. The Order of the Raven Spear is also neutral. The knights eschew politics in favor of academic subjects such as science and astrology. As heavy cavalry, knights of the Raven Spear fight with lances, shields and morning stars.
Female Orders
Only two knighthood orders allow women to join. The Lady Valkyries are an all-female order based in Javiksholm. The warriors fight with two-handed Fierdsvain swords on white-draped war steeds, acting as cavalry for the Fierdsvain infantry. The Order of the Falcon also has female knights, purportedly due to the fact that one of the founding members was a female warrior. Knights of the Falcon act as heavy infantry in battle, fighting with lances, great swords and morning stars.
