Game
"Need for Speed: Most Wanted" tells the tale of a racer who is out for revenge on those who have wronged him. Starting at the lowest spot on the blacklist, the list of the city's best racers, your revenge comes in the form of beating your opponents at races and gaining their cars. Set in an open-world environment, you have complete control over where you go and the order you complete events in. Along the way, you must also deal with the police who are looking to arrest you. In addition to a full single-player campaign, there are also multiplayer offerings where you can race against your friends.
Patch 1.3
Patch 1.3 addressed mostly multiplayer issues and bugs. Some of the most important issues fixed were frequent disconnects when playing multiplayer over a LAN, users no longer being sent back to the main menu after a race and users being able to see LAN games under the Quick Race selection. For the single-player game mode, the number of laps required for the Knockout game mode for Blacklist 15 was corrected to the proper number. In addition, a few bugs where the game would suddenly crash to the desktop were also corrected.
Applying the Patch
The version 1.3 patch is a free download from many PC gaming websites. The patch can be placed in any location on your hard drive; when you double-click it, it asks for the location where "Need for Speed: Most Wanted" is installed on your computer. The patch then automatically updates the game files to version 1.3. The version number is not displayed anywhere in the game, but once the update is finished, you receive a message stating your game has now been updated.
Removing the Patch
It is not possible to remove the patch once it has been applied. If you wish to remove the patch from the game, you must completely uninstall the game from your computer and perform a fresh install from the game disc. After reinstalling the game, the version of "Need for Speed: Most Wanted" will be version 1.00, the unpatched original version.
