Cheats for the Ravenhearst Cellar Door Lock

The "Ravenhearst" Games

• "Ravenhearst" and "Return to Ravenhearst" are the fourth and fifth games in the Mystery Case Files video game series. These are hidden-object puzzle games with a mystery backstory. You must try to uncover the games' secrets by questioning characters, finding hidden items and solving puzzles to reveal information and clues. Some of these puzzles take the form of door locks. To open the door you must solve a puzzle.

"Ravenhearst" Cellar: Door Light Puzzle

• In the first game, you are faced with a locked cellar door. Near the door, on the top left of the screen, you see a board with five rows of five lights. Some of the lights are on and some of them are off. Clicking a light that is on turns it off; clicking a light that is off turns it on. Turn all the lights on five times. Each time you turn on the lights, pull the lever under the light bulbs to obtain a battery. Once you have put all the batteries in place, a TV turns on; you must win three simple mini games on the TV to open the lock.

"Ravenhearst" Cellar: Inner Door

• Once inside the cellar in "Ravenhurst," you will find another locked door, painted yellow. To open it, collect a number of keys hidden in different locations around the game. You do not need to use the keys on the door -- you use them later -- but you need to have all of them in your inventory or the yellow door won't open.

"Return to Ravenhearst": Cellar Door Temperature

• "Return to Ravenhearst" features an old school which you must explore thoroughly to complete the game. Outside the school, on the left hand side, you'll find a door to the cellar. You'll need to discover the temperature of the cellar door. This is necessary to solve a later puzzle; the temperature value changes for every game.

Toys for Brats Puzzle

• In the Toys for Brats location in "Return to Ravenhearst," you'll notice an old, sparking furnace. During the game, you will acquire a pot holder; when you find this, you can use it to turn the knobs on the furnace. Turn up the furnace until the temperature is the same as the temperature of the cellar door outside the school. The burners on the furnace form a pattern. Make a note of this pattern, as it's the key to the locked cellar door.
