How to Create Your Tag for CS

"Counter-Strike," or "CS," is an online first-person shooter video game that requires users to run Steam, an online application developed by Valve Corporation. In "Counter-Strike," players are identified by a profile name, or tag. Your "Counter-Strike" tag appears in places such as the scoreboard, the chat box and in the Steam instant messaging feature. You can personalize your tag in "Counter-Strike" by editing a specific option in Steam.

     Launch Steam by clicking on the "Steam" shortcut in your Windows Start menu.

     Right-click on the "Steam" icon in the notification area of your taskbar.

     Select "Friends." Click on the arrow next to your current name and choose "Change Profile Name."

     Enter your new tag in the "Profile name" field and click on "OK."
