On the Ground
Use the number pad keys ̶0;4̶1; and ̶0;6̶1; to control the ailerons, allowing the plane to bank left and right. The ̶0;0̶1; and "Enter" keys move the aircraft's rudder, controlling left and right yaw. The number pad also controls pitch; ̶0;8̶1; pitches the craft down and ̶0;2̶1; pitches it up. ̶0;F8̶1; extends the flaps fully, while ̶0;F5̶1; fully retracts them. ̶0;F6̶1; and ̶0;F7̶1; allow for incremental retraction and extension, respectively.
Engine Controls
Pressing ̶0;Ctrl" and "E̶1; auto starts the engine. The ̶0;F3̶1; and ̶0;9̶1; keys increase throttle while the ̶0;F2̶1; and ̶0;3̶1; keys decrease it. Pressing ̶0;F1̶1; cuts the throttle while pressing and holding ̶0;F2̶1; reverses thrust. Holding ̶0;Ctrl̶1; and pressing keys ̶0;F1̶1; through ̶0;F4̶1; increases or decreases the RPM of the propeller. For jets, ̶0;J̶1; selects the jet starter. ̶0;Shift" and "+̶1; turns helicopter rotor clutches on and off.
In the Air
The ̶0;.̶1; key applies and releases brakes while the ̶0;+̶1; and ̶0;-̶1; keys apply left and right brakes, respectively. Pressing ̶0;Ctrl," "Shift" and "V̶1; opens cowl flaps incrementally, while ̶0;Ctrl," "Shift" and "Y̶1; closes them incrementally. ̶0;G̶1; extends and retracts the landing gear. The ̶0;Z̶1; key turns the master auto-pilot on and off, while ̶0;Ctrl," "Shift" and "G̶1; engages auto-throttle.
Simulator Commands
Simulator commands allow you to control interface-based game elements in FSX. Full screen mode, activated by ̶0;Alt" and "Enter,̶1; increases the game's viewing area. The ̶0;Q̶1; key turns the sound on or off. ̶0;P̶1; pauses the game, while ̶0;Alt̶1; brings up the menus. ̶0;Ctrl̶1; and "K" turns joystick functionality on or off. Pressing the ";" key at any time lets players save the game. "Ctrl" and "C" allows you to quickly exit the game.
