Leveling & Gathering After Ascension in Aion

"Aion"

• When you first begin "Aion," you must choose your faction: Asmodian or Elyos. At the beginning of the game, all players start out as a human regardless of the faction chosen. As a human, leveling and gathering work the same as many other online role-playing games and the game walks you through this process when you first start. However, once you reach Level 9, you must take the Ascension quest. At the end of this quest, you become a Daeva. Daevas are immortal, explaining why you can be killed so many times and resurrected, and also gain the ability of flight due to the wings they grow.

Ascension

• Once you have reached Level 9, you can begin your Ascension quest. For members of the Elyros faction, this quest begins in Poeta and for Asmodians it begins in Ishalgen. You must take the Ascension quest at Level 9; it is not possible to gain any experience until this quest is completed. Once you reach Level 9, the quest automatically begins and is placed into your quest book. The quest differs depending on the faction you are. Once this quest is finished, you will be directed to the location of the Daeva ceremony. Once the ceremony is complete, you will have finished the Ascension, gaining the strength and outward appearance of a Daeva.

Gathering After Ascension

• After you have ascended, your Gathering skill is renamed Essencetapping. The skill still works the same; you can gather items used for crafting at various nodes found all throughout the regions of Elysea, Asmodae and the Abyss. However, with Essencetapping you can now gain better-quality items from the nodes and raise your skill levels to a higher level. In addition, you now learn the skill of Aethertapping. This skill works in the same manner as Essencetapping but is performed in the sky at rifts. Aethertapping provides you with items that you can use to create the items you would find while Essencetapping.

Leveling After Ascension

• Leveling as a Daeva does not change from the process of leveling as a human. You still use experience to level up, and that experience is gained from slaying monsters and completing quests. After the Daeva ceremony is complete, you should reach Level 10. Once Level 10 is reached, you are automatically given two quests along with a third quest from your class master. These quests direct you to the new lands you will now use to gain additional quests and level up your Daeva.
