How to Get the High Score on Facebook in Mahjong

Facebook social games such as Mahjong give friends the opportunity to compete with one another for the high score. Mahjong solitaire is typically played alone, however, Facebook's social tools give the game a new level of competition as friends share achievements and swap game rewards. Although there are several Mahjong games available on Facebook, each with different game elements, the basic rules of Mahjong solitaire are universal. Mahjong games contain 144 tiles in different scoring categories. The object of the game is to earn points by matching like tiles, with special bonuses for clearing the entire board.

  Focus on eliminating tall stacks of tiles and long rows of tiles as these are the biggest obstacles to clearing the entire screen.

  Look for matches that will clear the most amount of tiles possible. You can always come back to the easy matches, such as two solitary tiles that do not touch other tiles.

  Clear high scoring tiles as early as possible as points are based on how many tiles are left in play when a match is made. The dragon, flower and season tiles are worth the most amount of points, while the character tiles and bamboo tiles are worth the least amount of points.

  Clear all of the tiles to add a bonus to your overall score. If playing a timed game, clear the board as quickly as possible to receive a time bonus.

  Participate in social interactions and exchange game gifts with your friends to receive bonuses that improve your performance and add to your overall score.
