How to Process Iron Ore Minus Fines

In "Slaves to Armok: God of Blood Chapter II: Dwarf Fortress," more commonly known as simply "Dwarf Fortress," your fortress will elect a mayor who will impose mandates during his reign. This includes the banning of certain materials, such as iron, and ignoring this mandate will incur fines or more severe punishment, such as beatings. The only way to get around this is to manually replace the mayor, and then you can process your iron ore as normal without incurring a fine.

     Launch "Dwarf Fortress" and press "Enter" on "Continue Playing."

     Press "N" to open the Nobles screen, as the mayor is a noble. By default, the mayor will be highlighted when you open the screen.

     Press "R" while highlighting the mayor to open a list of dwarfs who can replace the current mayor.

   • 4

     Press "Enter" on any dwarf to make him the new mayor of your fortress, canceling the previous mayor's ban. You can now continue processing your hematite into iron bars.
