How to Get a Wooden Look for a Wall & a Floor for a Backdrop

In "Terraria," a sandbox role-playing computer game, you must keep a few things in mind to protect yourself during the dangerous nighttime. For example, not only do you need a house to protect yourself, but you must have the proper backdrop to prevent monsters from spawning. This means you must destroy any dirt backdrop and replace it with wood.

Instructions

  Scroll through your inventory until you equip your ax. Walk anywhere until you find a tree, which are found abundantly throughout the world.

  Click and hold the left mouse button on the base of the tree until all of the logs fall down into your inventory.

  Walk into the house you built and press "Esc." This brings up your inventory screen. Scroll through until you highlight "Work Bench," and then click the icon beside it. Drag the now-created workbench into the top row of your inventory screen, also called the task bar.

  Press "Esc" to return to the game. Scroll through your inventory until you select the work bench. Right-click anywhere to place the workbench wherever your cursor is.

  Press "Esc" to open the crafting screen again while standing in front of the workbench. Because you are standing beside a crafting supplement, you will notice new things to craft as you scroll. Scroll until you highlight "Wood Wall." Hold the right mouse button to craft as many as you can with the wood in your inventory. Drag the wall into an empty slot on your task bar.

  Press "Esc" to return to the game, and scroll through the inventory to select your hammer. Left click the current dirt backdrop, if any, to smash it away. Make sure you leave no dirt backdrop behind at all.

  Scroll through your inventory to select the wooden walls. Click in the background where the dirt backdrop used to be to place the wall.
