How to Extract GMOD Files

"Garry's Mod," abbreviated "GMod," is a sandbox game built on Valve's Source game engine. The game lets you download and install add-ons from the Internet and use these add-ons to create game worlds. In order to use these add-on files, however, you must extract them to the correct destination on your computer. The extraction destination for GMod files is the "addons" folder, which can be found in the "C:\" directory of your computer's hard drive.

Instructions

    • 1

Double-click the ZIP file that contains the GMod files that you want to install to unzip its contents. Click on the add-on folder in the new window that opens to highlight it and click the "Extract To" button at the top of the window.

    • 2

Click the "+" icon to the left of the "Local Disk (C:)" option, followed by the "+" icon to the left of the "Program Files" option.

    • 3

Click the "+" icon to the left of the "Steam" option, followed by the "+" icon to the left of the "steamapps" option.
