Guide to Dinky Park in RollerCoaster Tycoon

The computer game ̶0;RollerCoaster Tycoon̶1; features several theme parks including Dinky Park. Dinky Park is an extremely hilly park that cannot extend beyond the area it currently inhabits. Although the game gives you the difficult task of increasing the park's value to a high level within a very short period of time in-game, you can achieve the goal by taking full advantage of each square of land available.
  1. Description

    • Dinky Park is the smallest park available in ̶0;RollerCoaster Tycoon.̶1; To complete the level featuring this park, you must raise the park's value to $10,000 within a two-year period. In "RollerCoaster Tycoon," a park's value is based upon its rides, concession stands, restrooms and scenery. Dinky Park has several prebuilt rides including a Ferris wheel, observation tower and spiral slide. Monitor your park value closely as you advance through the game.

    Initially Available Rides and Shops

    • As with other levels in the game, several roller coaster rides are available to purchase and add to your park. The roller coasters range from gentle rides such as the Haunted House to more thrill-oriented ones such as the Swinging Ship. Review the value of each ride to ensure it is high enough before placing the ride to take full advantage of the space in your park. You also have immediate access to several shops including a bathroom and ice cream. Hire enough maintenance staff to maintain your rides and shops to prevent a drop in park value.

    Additional Rides and Shops

    • As you invest in research in your park, more rides become available that could add value to your park. New rides such as the Steel Roller Coaster and Crazy Rodent are available every two or three months depending on how much you invested in research. Even more shops such as a cotton candy stall become accessible as time progresses. As you add more shops and staff, be sure to add more maintenance staff to ensure your park's value.

    Scenery

    • Although Dinky Park's scenery does not contribute a great deal to its overall value, it can play a role in increasing the park's value. When you have more scenery, you can attract more customers. More customers can translate to more money, which leads to a chance to buy more rides to increase park value. Basic scenery such as statues and foundations are available when the game scenario initially begins. As time passes, themes are released for your park.
