How to Get a COD4 Server on the List

"Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare," a first-person shooter for the PC, connects users to servers when playing a multiplayer game. Servers, owned and operated by other players, employ whatever rules the administrator wishes to use. For example, one server may only use one map, while another server is focused on a specific game mode. Players can select a server from the server list that appears in the multiplayer menu. However, if you have a particular server in mind you wish to play on, you can add that server to your list manually as a favorite.

     Launch "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare."

     Select "Multiplayer" on the main menu, followed by "Yes."

     Select "Join Game." A list of servers to join appears.

     Click "Source" at the top of the server list, followed by "Favorites."

     Click "New Favorite" in the upper-right corner of the screen.

     Enter the IP address of the server and click "OK." The server now appears in the server list under the "Favorites" tab.

     Click the server, followed by "Join Server" to begin playing on that server.
