How to Get Ore in John's Quest in MapleStory

"MapleStory," a side-scrolling MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) released by Wizet, allows players to quest and battle monsters for free. Jump quests, which includes John's Quest, challenge players to jump across a map to reach a certain point, usually to obtain some sort of item. John's Quest requires a player to reach a pink flower basket. After the quest has been completed the first time, it can be repeated to win the reward of two random Ore pieces, which can be used for making equipment.

Instructions

    • 1

Reach Level 15 in the game.

    • 2

Travel to Lith Harbor. This is the first city you experience after leaving the starting area, Maple Island, during the beginning of the game. You can use a Taxi in any city on Victoria Island to reach Lith Harbor.

    • 3

Find John. John is a sailor wearing a red bandanna. He is located at the center of Lith Harbor. Speak to him to gain the quest called "John's Pink Flower Basket."

    • 4

Travel to the right until you leave Lith Harbor. Keep heading through "Right Around Lith Harbor." Continue right through "Forest Trail 1" and "Forest Trail 2" until you reach "Six Path Crossway." Enter the Portal in the middle of "Six Path Crossway" to go to "Sleepywood."

    • 5

Talk to the "Mysterious Statue" in Sleepywood to begin the "John's Pink Flower Basket" quest. You will be teleported to "The Deep Forest of Patience."

    • 6

Complete the Jump quest by jumping between the platforms until you reach the top of the map. The first area is straightforward -- you must jump on each platform and slowly ascend. About halfway up, you will see flying, circular green orbs. Time your jumps so that you avoid the orbs, as they will cause damage and potentially knock you off the platform. The second area also requires you to jump between platforms but it has more orbs, including very fast red ones. As the title of the map says, be patient and do not try to rush through the jumps, as you may have to start over if knocked off a platform. Be sure to use the Duck command by pressing the down arrow on the keyboard. This can help you avoid some orbs.

    • 7

Complete the Jump quest a second time to receive two Ore.

    • 8

Repeat the quest each day to receive two additional ore. Jump quests can only be repeated once per day, for a total of two Jump quests per day.
