Instructions
Download a free MPQ editor such as Ladik̵7;s MPQ Editor from Zezula.net, PowerMPQ from PowerMPQ.Altervista.org or WinMPQ from SFSRealm.HopTo.org.
Open your downloaded MPQ editor and click its ̶0;Open MPQ̶1; option. Browse to the directory where you installed ̶0;Warcraft III,̶1; ̶0;C:\Program Files (x86)\Warcraft III̶1; by default, and double-click the ̶0;War3.mpq̶1; file to open it.
Browse to the ̶0;Maps\Campaign̶1; directory inside the War3.mpq file.
Select the ̶0;Human01.w3m̶1; file inside the Campaign directory, right-click it, use your MPQ Editor̵7;s ̶0;Extract̶1; option to extract the ̶0;Human01.w3m̶1; to a folder on your computer and close the MPQ editor.
Open the ̶0;Warcraft III̶1; World Editor by double-clicking the ̶0;World Editor.exe̶1; file, located inside the ̶0;C:\Program Files (x86)\Warcraft III̶1; directory by default.
Click the ̶0;Open Map̶1; button on the World Editor toolbar, browse to the extracted ̶0;Maps\Campaign\Human01.w3m̶1; map file where you extracted it on your computer and double-click it. The World Editor loads the Defense of Strahnbrad campaign map.
Use the box at the top of the Tool Palette window in the World Editor to select the ̶0;Unit Palette̶1; or ̶0;Terrain Palette.̶1; Each palette contains tools for managing the units and terrain on the map.
Click the ̶0;Trigger Editor,̶1; ̶0;Sound Editor,̶1; ̶0;Object Editor̶1; or ̶0;Object Manager̶1; icons to the right of the ̶0;Terrain Editor̶1; on the toolbar to open advanced editing windows where you can view the map̵7;s settings and customize them.
Click ̶0;File̶1; and ̶0;Save Map̶1; to save your customized map. You can open it as a custom map in ̶0;Warcraft III̶1; to play it.
