When the online role-playing game "Rift" made its debut in 2011, it forced players to accomplish some things before they could buy a "mount." A mount is a creature a player's character can ride to move quickly around the game world. Players originally had to reach level 20 to get a mount, but, by September of 2011, the rules were changed so players can buy mounts as soon as they start a game. It's just a matter of how much of your start-up money you want to use on a mount.
