U.S. Destinations
Large cities such as Miami, Oakland and Washington, D.C. are prime destinations that offer space for airports. Other destinations in the game include Houston and Oklahoma City. More cities become available as you play the game. Each player starts out with several international choices, such as Tokyo. The only U.S. destinations available at the beginning of the game are New York and Los Angeles.
Choosing a City
At the beginning of each game, you can select your airport's base city. If you opt to choose a U.S. city for your base, you need to consider whether the city is in a good place for both domestic and international flights. You should also consider the city's weather. Cities that have higher than usual temperatures or bad weather -- such as Phoenix or Chicago -- may not be a good choice for your airport's base city.
Terminals/Levels
Each destination offers up to four terminals. For instance, San Francisco offers three terminals, while Oakland only offers two terminals. When selecting your airport at the beginning of the game, consider how many terminals you need. Hover over a city's name in the gameplay screen to see pertinent information about the destination. Levels in the game range from easy to difficult. If you opt to play the difficult level, more destinations, including Dallas, are immediately available.
Airport Efficiency
The efficiency of your airport is important to its success. Factors such as the proximity of cafes to the airport and whether the airport runs on schedule is important to know when selecting a destination city. For instance, Oakland's flights are usually on time, while busier locations such as New York frequently run behind. When selecting a destination, you also need to consider the city's personnel. If you select a larger city such as Los Angeles, you must ensure there is enough staff to handle customers.
