How to Create Your Own Characters in Baldur's Gate

Black Isle's "Baludur's Gate" allows you to re-create the experience of playing Advanced Dungeons and Dragons without any of the complicated dice rolling and other procedures. Even if you don't have a group of friends interested in role playing, you can still explore the Sword Coast and save the Forgotten Realms from the forces of darkness. Just like in pen and paper role-playing games, a game of "Baldur's Gate" begins when you create a character or party of characters.

Instructions

  Click "New Game" in the Main Menu.

  Select a gender for your character. The gender you choose does not affect what race or class you will be able to pick from later.

  Pick a race and class for your character. Human, elf, half-elf, halfling, gnome and dwarf are the available races. Available classes include fighter, mage, thief, ranger, druid and cleric.

  Click the "Scores" button to generate your character's ability scores. Ability scores in "Baldur's Gate" determine your character's strength, charisma, dexterity, constitution, wisdom and intelligence.

  Customize your character's hair and outfit colors.
