How to Make Underground Paths From Home to Home in Minecraft

"Minecraft" is an online computer game where players can gather resources and construct buildings or other structures. To link these structures together, you may wish to create an underground pathway. This is particularly helpful if you want to keep the entrance to a storage base or house hidden. Players may also choose to install tracks in the underground path to quickly travel from one location to another.

Instructions

    • 1

Craft a pickaxe by placing two wooden sticks and three metal ore in the crafting grid.

    • 2

In your home, dig out a small staircase leading down underground. Once you have dug far enough down to clear your structure and any land formations, you may start clearing a tunnel straight toward your other home.

    • 3

Clear out blocks to create a wide enough tunnel; three blocks wide is typically good enough. If you do not plan on installing cart tracks, then a one-block wide tunnel is all you need.

    • 4

Place torches every 10 or so spaces to light the pathway. Torches are made by placing one coal and one wooden stick in the crafting grid.

    • 5

Once underneath your second home, start digging diagonally upward, one space up and then one space over, to create a staircase leading in to the house.

    • 6

Go back into the tunnel and lay down a straight line of track in the center block of the pathway. Tracks can be made with six iron ingots and one wooden stick in the crafting grid. Place a mine cart on the track to quickly travel underground between homes.
