How to Fly a Hydra on a Laptop

"Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" is the second-highest rated GTA game on Metacritic, selling over fifteen million copies on PS2, Xbox and PC. The PC version is considered the definitive version, supporting higher resolutions, framerates and the option of gamepad or keyboard and mouse controls. Many laptops do not have the "numpad" to the right of the keypad, so flying planes, particularly the Harrier-like Hydra can be quite challenging.

Instructions

    • 1

Enter the Hydra with the "F" or "Enter" key. Hold down the "W" key to activate the thrusters to cause the plane to lift and hover vertically. Hold down "2" while climbing to raise the landing gear.

    • 2

Hold down the "8" key when the plane has climbed as high as it can go vertically. Holding "8" points the thrusters horizontally, so the plane can fly forward.

    • 3

Use "W" to thrust and "S" to reverse thrust. "A" and "D" bank left and right. Use "Left Alt" to fire machine guns and "Left Ctrl" to use missiles. When attempting to land, use "2" to lower the landing gear and reorient the thrusters to vertical mode.
