How to Get a Superman Costume on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

The PC version of "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" inspired fans to create their own modifications (mods), many of which are available as free downloads. One of these mods changed the main character's outfit to a Superman suit and allowed him to fly around San Andreas. The mod can be done through a series of downloads, but it is not supported by the developers of the game itself.

Instructions

  Visit the GTAplace website and click the "Download" button. Click "Save" then specify the "Downloads" folder on your hard drive as the destination. The mod will start to download.

  Open the GTAGaming website and click the "Download" link. This will download the "IMG Tool" which views and replace textures in the game. Save the file to the same folder as the mod.

  Right click on the downloaded files and click "Extract All" to unzip the contents. You will get a folder with the "IMG Tool" and a folder containing all the Superman costume files.

  Double click the "IMG Tool" icon to open the program. Click "File," then "Open" and click on the "Player.img" file in the "San Andreas/models" folder.

  Click "Add" then select the files "Clark Kent BETA," "Classic Superman BETA," "Superman Returns BETA," and "Shared Parts." Click "Command" then "Rebuilt" to add the new files to the game.

  Copy the files from the "Scripts" folder to the "San Andreas\Data\script" folder.

  Copy the contents of the "Loading Screens" folder to the "San Andreas\models\txd" folder.

  Read the "Superman Installation" text file that comes with the mod. It lists the available powers and how to use them. It also lists where to buy the cape for Superman and the glasses for Clark Kent after the mod is installed.
