How to Make a Zombie Spawn in Minecraft

In "Minecraft," an independently-developed sandbox game for the computer, zombies were introduced in Survival Test mode as fast, aggressive monsters that only appear during the nighttime like other hostile creatures in the game. In versions prior to Beta 1.8.0, zombies drop feathers, which are essential to crafting arrows to shoot with a bow to attack other monsters, making zombies a valuable resource when you run out of chickens. Zombies and other hostile monsters only spawn on certain difficulty levels.

     Load "Minecraft" to the main menu.

     Load the world where you want to spawn a zombie.

     Press "Esc" to pause the game and bring up a menu. Click "Options."

     Click "Difficulty" until it reads "Difficulty: Easy," "Difficulty: Normal" or "Difficulty: Hard." Return to the game.

     Wait until nighttime. Zombies will spawn randomly in the darkness.
