Clear the ̶0;handling.dat̶1; Read-Only Attribute
Double-click your ̶0;Computer̶1; icon, open the "C:" drive, open ̶0;Program Files,̶1; open ̶0;Rockstar Games,̶1; open ̶0;Grand Theft Auto IV,̶1; open ̶0;Common̶1; and open ̶0;Data.̶1;
Right-click on the ̶0;handling.dat̶1; file and select ̶0;Properties̶1; from the contextual menu. The file properties window will appear.
Uncheck the box next to ̶0;Read-only̶1; at the bottom of the window.
Click ̶0;OK̶1; to apply the changes and close the properties window. The ̶0;handling.dat̶1; file is now editable.
Edit the ̶0;handling.dat̶1; File
Right-click on the ̶0;handling.dat̶1; file, select ̶0;Open With̶1; from the contextual menu and click ̶0;Choose Default Program.̶1;
Select ̶0;WordPad̶1; from the list of applications and click ̶0;OK.̶1; The ̶0;handling.dat̶1; file will open.
Scroll down to ̶0;THE DATA̶1; to display a list of the game̵7;s vehicles and the currently-programmed physics.
Edit the vehicles as desired. A complete list of vehicle modifiers can be found on GTAModding.
Click ̶0;Save̶1; and close the window when you are finished making your changes. When you launch ̶0;GTA IV,̶1; the game will use your new ̶0;handling.dat̶1; data.
