How to Import Animations With LibSL

"Second Life" is an online social massively multiplayer online role-playing game that lets players interact with other users around the world and make real-world money. Players can import their own animations into the game using LibSL, or LIB Second Life. This program will convert any XML animation file you can find online or that you have created with the free QAvimator program. Importing the animations into the game then makes them accessible in your "Animation" menu from the "Character Profile" section of the game.

Instructions

    • 1

Download the installation program of QAvimator onto your desktop. Run the program and follow the commands to install it to your computer. Skip this step and the second if you have already found the XML animations appropriate for use in "Second Life."

    • 2

Run QAvimator and create an animation using the tools available in the game. Click on "File" and then "Save As" to name and save your XML file. Save it to a folder you can find more easily later, such as on your desktop.

    • 3

Download the LibSL installation program from the Open Metaverse website. Run the installation program to install it to your computer.

    • 4

Open the LibSL program after you have installed it and click on the "File" button. Scroll down to the "Import" command in the "File" menu and click on it.

    • 5

Browse through your computer files to find the XML animation you created or saved earlier. Click on "Open" to begin the importing process.

    • 6

Type your "Second Life" username in the "Username" box. Click on "Import" to begin the import process. Wait for the process to finish and then click on "File" and "Close" to leave the program.

    • 7

Sign on to your "Second Life" profile and navigate to your "Character" button on the top of the game. Select "Profile" and then "Animations" to see your available animations. Check to make sure your animation loaded. Repeat the import process if it did not.
