How to Make Minecraft Servers Work

"Minecraft" is a computer game in which you can create anything you want using different "blocks" found throughout the game world. You can also explore this vast world, dig your own mines and find dungeons where you can battle monsters for treasure. But if you don't want to do those things on your own, you can join the adventures of other players by connecting to a "server," a randomly generated "Minecraft" world in which more than one person can play. Anyone can create their own server and invite other players to join them in their world.

     Download the "Minecraft" server software from Minecraft.net.

     Double click the "Minecraft_Server.exe" file to start your server.

     Find your IP address by going to a website like "What Is My IP?" Send the address to anyone you would like to invite to your "Minecraft" server. If the recipients enter your address after selecting "Multiplayer" from the "Minecraft" main menu, they will be taken to your custom server.
