How to Make a Dock on Minecraft

If you want to explore the oceans and lakes of ̶0;Minecraft,̶1; you will first need a boat in which to do so. Once you have successfully crafted a boat, it̵7;s a good idea to build yourself a return dock before you set sail. Boats are effective methods of transportation, but they are also quite fragile, meaning you risk destroying your vessel every time you run aground. You can avoid destroying your boat by building a safe place for it to wait while not in use.

Instructions

    • 1

Chop trees with your hand or an axe to gather wood.

    • 2

Open the crafting menu and place your wood in any of the grid squares to create Wooden Planks. It takes one piece of wood to make four Wooden Planks.

    • 3

Continue crafting Wooden Planks until you have around 12.

    • 4

Place one wooden plank in each of the six grid squares on the left of the crafting screen to make a door. Repeat this process so that you have two doors in total.

    • 5

Find water with land one square below the surface. You will find plenty of this type of water on beaches.

    • 6

Place Wooden Planks on the water until you have created a line that is four or five squares long.

    • 7

Run back to the shore and move two spaces to the right or left.

    • 8

Create another platform that is parallel and equal in length to the first.

    • 9

Stick both doors at the end of the platform in the water; align them so they open outward. This protects your boat from intruders.
