How to Meditate in The Sims 3

In "The Sims 3: World Adventures," the first expansion pack for "The Sims 3" for the PC, many new skills are available for Sims to learn. One such skill is the Martial Arts skill. As with all skills, raising the Martial Arts skill confers additional bonuses to your character, such as the ability to meditate. By meditating, your Sim can rid himself of any negative bonuses he has accrued; he can also raise his Fun statistic. All Sims are able to learn the Martial Arts skill and can meditate once they have met certain requirements.

Instructions

  Launch "The Sims 3: World Adventures" and select your Sim.

  Click on any telephone on your lot. Select "More" and then "Travel."

  Select "Shang Simli, China" from the list on the left side of the screen. Click the check mark located on the right side of the screen. The trip costs 1,300 Simoleons, and your Sim will travel to China immediately.

  Travel to the Phoenix Martial Arts Academy.

  Click on any of the training dummies located outside of the academy. Click "Practice" to begin raising your Martial Arts skill. When the blue bar above your Sim's head is full, he will earn one point in the Martial Arts skill. Continue to train until your Sim earns two Martial Arts skill points, allowing your Sim to practice with boards.

  Travel to the General Store in Shang Simli, China. Purchase the Board Breaker item for 500 Simoleons. This item allows your Sim to practice Martial Arts at home by breaking boards.

  Click on any phone in China. Select "Return Home" to return your Sim back to his house.

  Click "Buy," located in the bottom-left corner of the screen, and click the "Family Inventory" icon, which is a picture of a cardboard box.

  Click the Board Breaker item. Place it in any open location on your Sim's lot.

  Click on the Board Breaker and select "Practice." Select the "Foam Board" option. Harder boards can injure your Sim's hands, making him unable to practice for three hours. However, the foam board never injures your Sim, although it takes longer to gain a skill point with it. Train on the foam board until your Sim earns five Martial Arts skill points, at which point he can meditate.

  Click on your Sim. Select "Meditate" from the menu to begin meditating. A Sim can meditate in any area as long as there is space.

  Click the "Meditation" icon in the upper-left corner of the screen to stop meditating.
