History
Terrans landed on Koprulu hundreds of years ago after being exiled from earth. "Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty" is set in the 26th century and four years after "StarCraft: Brood War." Emperor Arcturus rules over the Terran Dominion after a power struggle and the demise of The Confederacy.
Characteristics
The terrans believe that their freedom is worth fighting for. The Terran people are not strangers to hardship and life on Koprulu has honed their survival instincts. What they lack in technological advances, they make up for with the human spirit. Their knack for survival has led them to thrive wherever they may find themselves.
Terran Units
Terran units are unique to their race and may seem primitive compared to the protoss and zerg. Terran marines are front-line tanks, while marauders are mobile units that focus on destruction. Helion and siege vehicles provide speedy support in battles, and a banshee can sneak up on protoss or zerg ground forces. A viking is a versatile unit that switches between air and land, and medivacs heal and transport troops out of combat situations. Ghosts use long-range headshots and nukes to kill enemies, while Thor can maneuver through ground forces and decimate enemy units in his path.
Strategy
Choosing Terran means you'll have access to strong defensive tactics with offensive abilities. Terran forces build mobile production units that can travel in the air and relocate to a safer area of the map or to the thick of combat. Terrans do not have any building restrictions, so they have the most flexibility for building bases. Terrans can also detect invisible enemy units.
