How to Get TF2 Models in Maya

"Audodesk Maya 3D" is animation software that can be used to manipulate 3D models. The SMD file format used for the 3D models in "Team Fortress 2" is not compatible with "Maya" by default. Valve, the developer of "Team Fortress 2," does provide the files needed to make SMD files compatible with "Maya" through the "Source SDK," a free development kit that can be downloaded through their digital distribution software, Steam. You need to copy files from "Source SDK" before "Maya" can open the models from "Team Fortress 2."
