How to Extract UPK Texture

UPK files are packages used by the Unreal gaming engine. According to File Info, these packages can contain several different types of files, including 3D meshes, textures, game settings, maps, music and other files. UPK packages are created by the Unreal Development Kit, which can be downloaded for free from its website. Consequently, you will also need this software to extract and edit the contents of any UPK package, including textures.

  Open your web browser and go to the Unreal Development Kit website.

  Click the "Download UDK" button.

  Download and install the latest release of the Unreal Development Kit. Launch the application.

  Click the "File" menu and select "Open" from the drop-down list.

  Browse to the folder containing the UPK file you wish to open.

  Click the UPK file you wish to open and click the "OK" button. The file will be extracted and fully editable with the Unreal Development Kit.
