How to Be a Successful Rogue in Cataclysm

Since its 2004 release, the online role-playing game "World of Warcraft" has had numerous expansion packs, including "Cataclysm" in November 2010. This expansion pack overhauled how users play the game, including the fundamentals of combat for rogues. Succeeding as a rogue in "Cataclysm" requires getting the best equipment and honing your skills to take advantage of agility and stamina bonuses.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate armor with bonuses specific to rogues. Rogues rely heavily on agility and stamina to remain alive, and any other bonuses on gear are useless. For example, the Assassin's Chestplate provides +321 agility and +512 stamina. Purchase it in the auction house or craft it with 525 leatherworking.

    • 2

Locate weapons with bonuses specific to rogues. Again, you will want equipment with agility and stamina bonuses. For example, Alysra's Razor provides +177 agility and +296 stamina, and you can only obtain it by defeating the raid boss Alysrazor on "Heroic" difficulty.

    • 3

Use the new rogue abilities introduced in "Cataclysm." Redirect, available at level 81, transfers combo points earned to the rogue's new target. Combat Readiness, available at level 83, reduces the damage a rogue takes after being hit by a melee attack. Smoke Bomb, available at level 85, drops a cloud in front of the rogue, greatly interfering with the way his enemy targets him.

Use potions to refill your health and stamina whenever either bar gets low. You can monitor these in the upper-left corner of your monitor beside your character's portrait.
