How to Calculate Expansion Times

In 2004, Valve Corporation released the Steam content delivery program, in which users can purchase digital copies of games and their expansion packs, installing them onto the user's computer with ease. Whether you are installing a base game or one of its expansion packs, you can see the amount of time it will take for Steam to download the content and install it onto your hard drive.

      Open Steam and wait for it to fully load. Click "Library."

      Right-click the expansion you want to install. Select "Install." A dialog box will appear, providing an estimation time for how long it will take to install.

      Click "Finish" to close the dialog box.

      Click "1 Item Downloading," located on the bottom of the program. The time left to download will appear below the expansion you are installing.
