How to Make an Override File for Kotor

You can install add-ons or mods for Kotor, or "Knights of the Old Republic," by creating an Override file in the game's installation directory. Mod files can then be placed in the Override directory and replace the default game settings. Kotor is a computer game set in the Star Wars universe. Players directly affect the course of game play as their decisions change the outcome of the story line.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the "Knights of the Old Republic" game installation directory, which is found on your main hard drive in the "Program Files."

    • 2

In the Kotor folder, right click on an empty space and select "Create New Folder." Name this folder Override.

    • 3

Place any mod files into the Override folder to install them. Close the file and load "Knights of the Old Republic." Some mod files that use an .exe installation file will not install unless you have the Override file already in your Kotor directory.

    • 4

Uninstall mods by deleting the Override folder from your Kotor directory, or just the files inside.
