How to Fix a Parsing Error for Football Manager

The "Football Manager" franchise of soccer management simulations have been produced by Sports Interactive since 1994 and are recognized as some of the fastest-selling PC games of all time. As is perhaps inevitable with a game that has so much data crammed into it, occasionally errors will crop up. One of these is a message that appears informing users that they have an ̶0;XML parsing error̶1; and cannot continue. Solve this error by resetting your preferences for the game.

      Right-click the ̶0;Football Manager 2011̶1; shortcut on your desktop. If you have deleted the desktop shortcut and purchased ̶0;Football Manager 2011̶1; as a physical copy, you can find a second shortcut in ̶0;C:/Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2011.̶1; If you downloaded the game via Steam, a second shortcut is in ̶0;C:/Program Files/Steam/Steam Apps/Common/Football Manager 2011.̶1;

      Select ̶0;Properties̶1; from the pop-up menu after right-clicking.

      Type the phrase ̶0;--reset_preferences̶1; after the phrase currently in the ̶0;Target̶1; box. Click ̶0;OK.̶1; The next time you run ̶0;Football Manager 2011̶1; the parsing errors will disappear.
