How to Get to the Captain on Steamworks Island

Captain Ziggs' Cabin is a room you have to sneak into while playing through the main quest on Steamworks Island in "Poptropica." On the whole, Steamworks Island is one of the most difficult areas in "Poptropica," and getting to Captain Ziggs' Cabin is a major factor in the level's difficulty. Before you can gain access to the Captain's room, you have to complete several tasks to find the tools you'll need to get past the obstacles on the way.

Instructions

    • 1

      Play through the game until you get into the Mayor's Office. There is nothing in here but a typewritten note and a painting. Grab the note; you will need the number on it to open a door later. Exit the building and head to the left to enter a new area.

      Run past the first building and keep going until you get to a blue building. Go inside it and pass through the rooms until you find a robot crab. Jump on the crab, pick it up and get the key it drops. Exit the building and enter the green building to the left.

      Ride the steam chute up to the roof. Walk on top of the old vine, and then pick it up. Leave the building and head all the way to the right to get back to the first building you passed, which is Sully's Shop.

      Look at the inventory in your backpack and apply the steam battery to the console to get it started. Insert the key into the door to initiate a mini-game. Follow the onscreen directions to complete the game.

      Enter Sully's Shop and ring the bell to wake up the robot. Go to the box to the left and take the rubber mallet. Leave the shop, and the robot will join you. Backtrack to Main Street, and then head to the right to get to The Hub.

      Take the robot crab out of your backpack. Sprocket will take the robot crab and use it to allow passage through the hatch, down to the next area. Move along the pipes until you encounter a plant monster. Take the old vine out of your backpack to defeat the monster.

      Proceed along the pipes to reach the bottom-left side of the room. Activate the machine here to play another mini-game. Follow the onscreen instructions to finish the game, and then go back outside.

      Walk to the right and jump on the spring. Pull the lever, and then jump back down to street level. Walk to the left until you find some vines. Climb them up to the next level, and then jump onto the moving platform. Jump from the platform to the yellow pipe.

      Jump up on the valve of steam to get to the area to the upper-left. Head all the way to the left and click on the elevator. Slam the window shut when the plant monster attacks Sprocket. Click on the dial under the painting to the upper-right.

      Click the moving dials to stop them on the appropriate numbers to match the combination on the piece of paper you picked up earlier. This unlocks the door to the right, which leads to Captain Ziggs' Cabin.
