How Do I Beat Poison Ivy in Arkham Asylum?

In "Batman: Arkham Asylum," Poison Ivy is the boss you have to beat at the midpoint of the game. Because Poison Ivy can hide behind invulnerable plants and summon plants to attack you, you must be quick on your feet to avoid losing the game before defeating her. Patience and proper timing are also key in getting past her.

Instructions

  Start the battle by throwing your Batarangs at Poison Ivy while running left and right, dodging her distance attacks. After damaging Poison Ivy enough, a short cutscene plays before you return to gameplay and take control of Batman again.

  Continue running back and forth, but at varying speeds, as Poison Ivy attacks from a distance and spawns rows of spikes underneath you in an attempt to harm you. Poison Ivy will be intermittently protected by plants and you will be unable to attack her while she is protected. Wait until she appears again and attack her several times until another short cutscene plays.

  You will be forced to dodge ranged attacks, spikes and enemies on foot that are under Poison Ivy's control upon returning to gameplay after the cutscene ends. Distract the enemies by fighting them until the ground rumbles, then dodge to the side when the spikes appear. The enemies on foot will be harmed by the spikes, giving you a moment to regroup.

  Continue attacking Poison Ivy with the Batarangs when she is visible until she is defeated. The most difficult part of the battle is not harming Poison Ivy, but dodging her attacks.
