How to Create a Flat Area in FSX

Microsoft "FSX" gives you the opportunity to create your own sceneries, such as mountains, water bodies and flat areas of land. With the aid of Google Earth and "FSX" Keyhole Markup Language, or KML, you can integrate the surroundings you have in mind into the game. Your creativity will enrich your gaming experience, and you can even share your designs with your friends by giving them directions on how to create them themselves.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw a polygon in Google Earth and save the KML file. Open the file and mark the polygon with "Airport_Backgrounds_Flatten_MaskClassMap_ExcludeAutoGen." This will initiate a project that involves the flattening of terrain around an airport.

    • 2

Click the "Vertices" tab and then click the "Edit" button to set the elevation of the polygon to the elevation of the runway.

    • 3

Click the "Set Elevation" button and input the elevation of the runway. The area around the runway will now be flattened.
