How to Load StepMania

Install .Smzip File

  Double-click the .smzip file to being automatic installation. The .smzip file detects and installs the song files in the "StepMania" directory.

  Click "Finish" to complete the installation.

  Click the "Close" button to close the import window. Your song is now installed in your "StepMania" game.

Install .Zip File

  Right-click and extract the contents of the .Zip file into a decompressed folder.

  Open the decompressed folder, and then hold the "Ctrl" key and press the "A" key to highlight all the files in the folder.

  Hold the "Ctrl" key and press the "C" key to copy the files.

  Navigate to the "StepMania" songs folder, which is located at "C:\ProgramFiles\StepMania\Songs" by default.

  Double-click the group folder you would like to add the song to, if a group folder exists. If there is not already a group folder or you do not want to add the song to an existing group, click "New Folder" from the top toolbar and type the name of the new song group. Double-click this folder to navigate inside.

  Click "New Folder," type the name for the new song as the folder's name, and then double-click this folder to navigate inside.

  Right-click inside of the folder and select "Paste" to place the song contents into the folder. This installs the song into the "StepMania" game.

Loading Song

  Launch the "StepMania" program and click "Game Start."

  Select "Single Player" from the menu, and then select your difficulty level.

  Select the song group where you installed your song. Use the left and right arrows to scroll through the songs in the group until you find the song you want to load.

  Press the green square on your game pad to load the song.
