How to Get Into the Mines in King's Bounty

In "King's Bounty: The Legend," a 2008 turn-based fantasy computer game, your primary objective is to locate the Scepter of Order to save the king from certain death. This requires searching the entire world for 25 pieces of paper that form a map. At the start of the game, you cannot enter the mines and search them; the only way to enter the mines is through its associated quest, Portrait of the Griffins' King, accessible once you complete Griffin's Crown.

Instructions

- 1
  Speak with King Harl after completing Griffin's Crown. He will instruct you to take the portrait from Alex Artist at his house.

  Travel to Alex Artist's house, located on your in-game map. He tells you he requires an item from Decar at his home.

  Travel to Decar's home, located on your in-game map. Decar informs you that he requires several items before giving you Alex Artist's item and you can only find it in the nearby mines. Upon Decar instructing you to retrieve these items, the entrance to the mines unlocks only for the duration of the quest.

  Enter the mines just across the path from Decar's home. Retrieve the seven red glowing items within the cave, the location of which varies randomly.

  Return to Decar with the items and he will give you Alex Artist's item.

  Return to Alex Artist and give him his item. He will finish the portrait, which you can then return to the king to the quest.
