How to Get a Zhelm in MapleStory

Reach Level 50 and participate in the Zakum party quest: You must first travel to El Nath and speak to your third job instructor to gain permission to move deeper into El Nath. Without this permission, a nonplayer character will block you from entering the Dead Mines. Travel through the mines to reach The Door of Zakum. You must then complete three quests, preferably with a party of two to four members. In the first part, you explore the rooms of the mines to collect keys while avoiding monsters. After you collect the keys, you must complete a jump quest. The final prerequisite requires you to hunt Mine Zombies for 30 gold teeth. After you complete all these quests, you fight Zakum, the Level 110 boss. He heals quickly, is able to drain your health and magic and casts spells on you. Zakum is also surrounded by lava that quickly decreases your HP. Defeat Zakum, and among the items he will drop is the Zakum Helmet.

Purchase the Zakum Helmet from member shops. You can find these shops in the Free Market, which has entrances in all major towns. The Free Market contains individual rooms where members can set up shop. Typically, Channel-1 is busiest and has the most shops; however, going there may also cause the most strain on your connection and result in lag. You can manually check every shop, in each room, on all channels, or you can perform a search with the cash-shop item the Owl of Minerva. The Owl will search for your item and give you a short list of locations, including channel and shop owner names, as well as the current selling price. Note that you can use the Owl of Minerva only once, and the Zhelm may not be available when you perform your search.

Enter the Maple Trade System by clicking "Trade" from the bottom of the game screen. Within the MTS, you will be able to search for items such as the Zakum Helmet. Within the trade system, you can instantly purchase or participate in auctions for items for sale by other players. The currency of the Maple Trade System is NX, which you can purchase online or with game cards from brick-and-mortar shops. You cannot use mesos, the in-game currency, to trade. You also cannot use MaplePoints, which you may have won from events, to purchase items from the MTS.

Register an account for Basil Market, a third-party site that facilitates trades within the game. You can search for Zakum Helmets that are currently available for auction and make bids in mesos. Each seller can list the specific stats of his Zhelm so you know exactly what you are purchasing. If you win the auction, you can set up an in-game trade in Basil Market, and then meet the seller to purchase your Zakum Helmet. Buyers and sellers can leave feedback after completing trades in Basil Market.
